July 10, 2014MANY THANKS
I would like to “echo” the words of Paul in Philippians 1:3 . . . “I thank my
God upon every remembrance of you.”
Pastor and I remember with much thanks the very special Birthday
Party you gave us. The ice creams were WONDERFUL, all
the cards were BEAUTIFUL, and the fellowship of nearly 60 folks
was SWEET (ice cream and cake…ha!). You made turning 66 not
so bad after all. We both give thanks to the Lord for the blessings
of those years.
I would like to add a thank you to EVERYONE who worked tirelessly
for a successful VBS. Many days before, a team of people
decorated the sanctuary and Bethany Hall for the theme of a spy
agency for our Agency D-3 Bible School. The D-3 stands for Discover,
Decide, Defend—the Bible verse was I Peter 3:15 :
Sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: be ready always
to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason
of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear.
I will not even begin to name names but off the top of my head
we had 30+ workers. Pastor and I honor and appreciate each one
for everything that was done to make VBS a success.
I would be amiss to leave out giving thanks to the Lord. I Thessalonians
5:18 tells us, “In everything give thanks for this is the
will of God.” At the top of the list would be God sending His son
Jesus to save us from our sins; the list could go on from there—
too lengthy for me to even begin.
Therefore, sometime soon after reading this Echo, get a pen and
paper and list the many things that come to your mind for which
you can give thanks with a grateful heart . . . give thanks to the
